Deals and Steals - 9/16

Happy Friday!  Finally...this one felt like it may not arrive for a while there.  H and I went to an Oktoberfest beer tasting last night at a local alcohol store (Binny Beverage Depot) and had some pretty tasty brews.  I figure I've come a long way from Miller Lite (I started drinking beer in college, in Milwaukee, what do you expect?) but I also still don't have a huge pallet for craft-brew, so for $5 we sampled close to 30 types of beer.  Well worth the money, although they did take back the sampler cup. Boo.  However, we also made friends with one of the clerks, who invited us to be on his "exclusive" email list, which gives "priveledged" people a heads up of when speciality events or shipments are received at the store.  Niiiice.

My favorite was probably the Pumking from Southern Tier though.  It tasted exactly like pumpkin pie with a hint of beer.  Of course, it's one of the most popular/sought after pumpkin beers, so there was a limit of one per person, but that's okay.

As far as the weekend goes, it's going to be semi-busy!  Tonight I'm working on H's anniversary gift and tomorrow I have scheduled an 18-mile run and a bachelorette party.  The bachelorette party is for my best friend from college who lives in FL now.  I'm so excited just to see her again let alone go out and celebrate.  Plus we're tasting with an appetizer demonstration with wine pairings.  Should be tasty!
