Friday's here!

Happy Friday darlings!  This one kind of felt like it was never going to happen.  It’s been one long week for me!  I’m excited for our plans.  Tonight is “Date Night”, at least that’s what we agreed on earlier in the week.  I have a Groupon that expires soon for a Mexican restaurant that we’re planning on using (deals is two apps, two entrees, one dessert and two margs; nice!) and then we may or may not go see a movie at the nearby theater.  It’s usually shows more independent films and there are several that I’m interested in seeing, but may take some convincing for Ben.  Martha Marcy May Marlene: This has the younger Olsen sister in it and has been getting a lot of hype.  It’s about Olsen as a girl who grew up in a cult and escapes.  Like Crazy: The long distance love story of a young couple who meets at school in the US but the girl’s Visa expires and she’s sent back to UK.  The Descendants (with George Clooney): The store about a father who’s wife suffers a boating accident off Waikiki. Lastly, Melancholia (with Kirsten Dunst): I don’t quite get the story-line, but there’s a wedding involved as well as a planet called Melancholia coming towards Earth to possibly destroy it.  It sounds interesting and a lot of reviews have said it has potential to be the movie of the year, so why not?

Tomorrow we have an exciting afternoon adventure planned…we’re going to learn how to fly a plane!  I bought vouchers for lessons last December via Travelzoo for flight lessons and gave them to Ben as part of his Christmas gift.  He’d always wanted to be a pilot growing up so I thought it’d be a fun gift…but here we are 11 months later and we haven’t used them.  I kept meaning to call and set it up but kept forgetting.  One day, one of my book club girlfriends posted pics on FB that she and her husband had done it and it looked awesome! So I finally called and have us set up for tomorrow.  30 minutes of ground training and then 30 minutes flying for each of us (with a pilot at the second set of controls).  Should be fun!

Does anyone else have fun or exciting weekend plans?

This isn’t quite a deal, but something I think that is pretty cool! Today Living Social is “selling” a donation to Toys for Tots.  Donate just $5 to Toys for Tots (via LivingSocial) and companies like Toys’R’Us and Hasbro will match your donation.  So in total you’re “giving” $10 to the charity.  Donate here!
