For the first time in 25 years, Chicago Public Schools teachers union, CTU, is on strike. Today is day #3. The biggest issues, from what I've seen/read, are job security and teacher evaluations. Over 350,000 students are affected (schools are offering "educational" programs M-F until 12:30 but then children are "set free").
Since I work downtown and walk a few blocks to the train; I've come across the protests every day this week. Here are some pictures taken on Monday.
