Sandy

My heart continues to go out to all of those affected by Sandy and those who are still struggling to figure out what's happened and how to even begin thinking about recovery.

Earlier today I came across this website; which shows before and after pictures of New Jersey cities.  The changes are mind-numbing.

Another website I read, Daily Candy, posted this information today on how you can help. See original context here:

We love New York.
And you take care of those you love.
If you safely weathered the storm and are able to donate time or money, please do so. Not all of our friends, family, and neighbors were so lucky.
To volunteer immediately, email nycservice@cityhall.nyc.gov with your name, email address, and borough. Someone will contact you with ways to help today and over the next week. The Red Cross is also looking for shelter volunteers; visit nyredcross.org for sign-up information. For opportunities in the coming months, go to newyorkcares.org.
The Humane Society is accepting donations (humanesociety.org). Follow @humanesociety on Twitter for volunteer opportunity updates.

Tonight NBC is hosting a Sandy Benefit concert, Coming Together, which will include preferences from Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Christina Aguilaea and Sting.  All proceeds will go to the Red Cross.  The concert will also be aired on other channels, including: Bravo, E! and HBO
