Wknd Recap

This was our second weekend in a row going back to the Quad Cities (our hometown) for my SIL's baby shower on Saturday.
Saturday morning my mom picked me up for Starbucks catch-up chat followed by a brief stop at Vonmaur.  Considering we spent the whole weekend at my ILs, it was great to set aside some time for the two of us, even though we did spend all of last weekend at my parent's house. She even ended up buying the above Desigual  dress for me; which was on an incredible sale of $34 (originally $139).

(Bracelets: Rhinestone//Forever21, Chain Link//YuniKelly, Monogram//DanniJo: no longer available)
After shopping, we wrapped up our gift for the baby shower and headed over.  The theme of the shower was "She's ready to pop".  I helped co-host and had intended on taking pictures, but completely forgot.  It was the first time I've seen SIL (now about 29 weeks along) actually look pregnant.  The shower was a ton of fun and she went home with a ton of goodies! Of course, later Oscar, the infamous scaredy-cat, barked at everything.

Every Christmas my sister and I each spend a day helping my dad with his holiday shopping.  This year, we had to condense our day into about three hours.  It's a good thing I'm a power-shopper :O) Mission completion.
Saturday night we had dinner with my ILs and spent the rest of the next at their house just hanging out.  It was nice to have all six of us (MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL, Ben and I) all together.  I'm not sure the last time that's happened at home.  Of course, it isn't a trip to the Quad Cities for us unless we get some Whitey's Ice Cream, which was our dessert.  Even though it's such a basic flavor, Whitey's mint chocolate chip is still my all-time favorite.  Paired with their seasonal peppermint oreo, it's even better.

The big finale to the weekend was picking up Tiny Tim last night.  He is anything but tiny! We're guessing that is Oscar is currently 62 lbs, Tim must be around 70, which is a challenge considering he is still learning how to do stairs.  But oh my goodness, is he cute?!  He is like a big cuddly teddy bear who wants to be pet; except that he pees and poops.  So far it's just been pee.  Inside 3 times and outside once.  I'd better get this trend to reverse.

That's our weekend in a nutshell.  I hope you had a great weekend as well.

  1. I'm obsessed with your monogram bracelet! I just adore anything with a monogram... especially jewelry! That ice cream looks amazing. Also, Tiny Tim? So stinkin' cute!
