Bears Down (+deals)

Hi there. I hope you had a nice weekend! Ours was great.  We had friends in from out of town and kept busy all weekend (I have pics to share later with some details).  The finale to our weekend was the Bears vs Houston Texans game last night.

Remember the Texas Wedding from this summer? The newlyweds came up to Chicago this weekend for a visit and timed the visit for the Chicago/Houston game.  They stayed with another couple but invited us with to the Bears Game. When they said they planning on spending up to $150 each per ticket, we declined the offer, not wanting to spend that much money after this years vacations.

 

Luckily for us, a friend of my father in law had a pair of season tickets he wasn't going to use because of the night game (he lives three hours from Chicago), so he sold them to us for face value at $80 each.  Well, technically to my in-laws because they graciously offered to buy them for us (and who are we to decline such an offer?).

 

We knew the weather forecast was dicey, but then again, we realized we hadn't been to a game since 2006 when I bought Ben Bears vs Packers tickets for Christmas and that was the coldest game Brett Farve said he's ever played in (since the Bears got Jay Cutler as QB, ticket prices have sky rocketed).  We geared up with our ponchos, my Wellies, and plenty of layers to survive the game.  Unfortunately, the Bears (and Jay Cutler) did not.  We lost 13 to 6 and Jay Cutler failed to return to the field after halftime. ESPN-Chicago had stated he had a concussion.

 

The one thing we have going for us, is that the games we do attend, always seem to be memorable.
