1/7's Deals and Steals

Good morning. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I can't lie, I'm glad Monday is here. My weekend was fairly exhausting and yesterday I couldn't help but think to myself "I can't wait to get back to going to bed early and being on a normal schedule."

You see, we had some friends in town, a set of brothers, Ben's childhood friends.  One of the boys goes to vet school in Scotland and was on his way back from the holidays, staying with us in Chicago for two nights before his flight.  The last time we'd seen him was when we met he and his fiance in Amsterdam in March.

Being the good host Ben is, we took them out to all of Ben's favorite spots, mainly bars with great craft beer.  In addition, I also had a girls gift exchange, a brunch and saw Les Miserables yesterday.

I hadn't been anxiously awaiting its arrival at the theaters, but yesterday afternoon when the guys wanted to drink more, a friend and I decided at 2:59pm to catch the 3:10pm show instead. Perfect Sunday afternoon! With Oscar nominations to be announced on Thursday, we were intrigued to see what will surely have several nominations.  Well worth it.
