How to Combine Points

Unlike Amex, Chase doesn't automatically pool your points together for you. If you have multiple credit cards from the same bank, each card with their own points, you can combine those points together to your Sapphire or Ink Preferred card to transfer to travel partners.

If you have business cards and personal cards: the very first time, you'll have to call Chase Customer Service and ask them to link your Business and Personal accounts (in the future you won't need to call to combine, just for the initial link between accounts). This will then give you the ability to combine points across the two accounts with the method below.

If you have a partners with points in the same household: you're also able to link your account to your partners so that you can share points. Again, the very first time, you'll have to call Chase Customer Service and ask them to link your and your partners cards (in the future you won't need to call to combine, just for the initial link between accounts).

When you call Chase to make this link between accounts, make sure you ask them to link both ways - ie. so that your partner has the ability to combine their points with yours, and so that you also have the ability to combine your points to theirs.

How to Combine Your Points

1. If you're on a computer, navigate to your on Ultimate Rewards Home page (you can do this by clicking on any of your credit cards, then looking for your points and click Redeem.

2. At the top right should be your accounts (each card that earns points). Click the drop down arrow to see all of your accounts then click Combine.

3. Select the card you're transferring points FROM on the left and select the card on the right you're moving points to. Note that you need to choose your premium card to transfer points TO (this is your Sapphire or Business Preferred Card).

4. Click next, enter the amount of points to move, then click review and on the final page click Submit.

Easy peasy!! (If you've linked your account to your partners, you'll see their Sapphire card as an option to select when you're on the Combine Points page. Instead of selecting one of your cards to move points, you select theirs).

I typically go into our Chase accounts once a month or so and combine points to my Sapphire Preferred. 1. So I know our overall count. 2. Sapphire or Ink Preferred cards are the only cards you can utilize to Transfer Points to Partners.
