American Express

• British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia Plus: 30% bonus through 11:59PM ET Sept 27, 2026 (this is almost 2 months long! wow!)

These airlines are all part of Oneworld Alliance and all use Avios as their points system. What's cool about Avios, is that you can move them from one Avios airline to another! I have an entire post and tutorial here.

Why would you want or need to do this? You can save 30% on other flights, not just these airlines! For example, Qatar Airways is known to be one of the best business class flights in the world but they're not part of this transfer bonus (nor a transfer partner of Amex)... but you could move Amex points to British Airways, and then from British Airways to Qatar to ultimate book your flight and utilize this transfer bonus.       

Capital One

• Avianca LifeMiles: 15% bonus through 11:59PM ET August 31, 2026 (Avianca is part of Star Alliance; which you could use to your benefit to book a flight, even if you don't want to fly Avianca. Learn more about Airline Alliances)

Chase

• IHG Hotels & Resorts: 70% bonus through 11:59PM ET August 31, 2026

Don't forget - all IHG credit cardholders get 4th night free, when you book 4 consecutive nights or longer!

• Air Canada: 20% bonus through 11:59PM ET September, 2026.

Don't have any plans to fly Air Canada soon? Don't write off this transfer bonus just yet! Air Canada is in Star Alliance, a partnership of airlines that allow you to book flights for other airlines in the alliance. This means you could potentially book a United flight (and other airlines) through Air Canada using this transfer bonus! Learn more about alliances here.

Summary

If you're looking for a new card and don't have one of the cards listed above with an elevated offer; I would consider going for it. Especially when it's a flexible/transferable point card.

Keep in mind - Chase has recently changed their eligibility rules on several cards. For the following cards, you are now only to receive ONE sign up bonus (EVER!). This is a change for those of us who were familiar with the Sapphire 48mo rule and/or being able to open multiple repeat Ink Business cards. 

A rule change for the better is that you can hold the Sapphire Preferred AND the Sapphire Reserve at the same time now - which is great before they have different benefits.

• Hilton:  20% bonus through 11:59PM ET July 14th, 2026 (keep in mind, American Express points always transfer to Hilton at a 1:2 ratio; which doubles your points when moved to Hilton!)

Summary

June 2026 Transfer Bonuses

What is a Transfer Bonus?

Essentially - it's free points or miles!

Transfer bonuses are a limited time promotion where bank/partner programs will offer extra points to transfer your flexible bank points to a specific hotel or loyalty program. Banks frequently (sometimes monthly, sometimes sporadically) announce transfer bonuses, which means if you transfer points from the bank to the partner with the bonus, you’ll get more points for free with that partner, just for transferring! 

In order to take advantage of these bonuses, you need to transfer your flexible bank points to the travel partner with the bonus. Not familiar with how to transfer points or which hotels/airlines partner with which banks? You can learn how to transfer points here, Chase Transfer Partners here, American Express transfer partners here and Capital One's here. 

Keep in mind.. once you transfer points, you cannot transfer them back to your bank. They are then "stuck" in whichever airline/hotel partner you transferred to. Transfers from banks to airline or hotel partners are irreversible.

It is NOT recommended to transfer points from a bank to a travel partner, just because there's a bonus. It's generally best to keep your points flexible until you're ready to book travel, at which point you then transfer out of the bank.

American Express 

• Air France/KLM (Flying Blue): 25% bonus through 11:59pm MT 6/30/2026

• Air France/KLM can charge high taxes/fees; but they also can charge less in points for flights. Read this post to learn more about why I love Flying Blue for families!
• Don't want or need to fly Air France or KLM? Not going to Europe soon? Keep in mind that Flying Blue is part of an Airline Alliances. With this transfer bonus, you may be able to book flights on other airlines in the same alliance, such as Delta, even for domestic flights
• For example, you can fly Delta one-way from Denver to Minneapolis this summer and fall for just 9,000 miles booked with Air France (and this is before the transfer bonus!)



That's less miles than booking direct on Delta - for the same exact flight. 
(This is why Airline Alliances can be so powerful!)

• Marriott Hotels: 20% bonus through 11:59pm MT 6/30/2026

Capital One

• None at this time

Chase

• Marriott Hotels: 55% bonus through 11:59PM ET June 30th, 2026
• Virgin Atlantic: 35% bonus June 9, 2026 through 11:59PM ET July 14th, 2026
• Southwest: 30% bonus through 11:59PM ET June 5th, 2025 (this bonus ended)

How Many Points to Transfer

To figure out how many points you NEED to transfer, you take the amount of points needs to book your flight/hotel and divide that number by the transfer bonus (in numerical form, the percent plus 1).

So say you want to book a 50,000 point flight and there's a 20% transfer bonus. You would calculate 50,000 / (1.2) to figure out how many points you need to actually transfer. In this case, it calculates out to 41,667 points.

Most programs require you transfer points in 1,000 point increments, which means for our example, with a 20% transfer bonus, you'd transfer 42,000 points to book your 50,000 point travel.

• Note that Amex standard transfer ratio is 1 Amex point equals 2 Hilton points! So when you transfer 1,000 Amex points with this transfer bonus, they become 2,400 Hilton points! (and if you have Hilton Gold Status, which you can get by having an Amex Personal Platinum or Business Platinum card; when booking 4 consecutive nights on points, you get the 5th night free!). This is a GREAT transfer points to take advantage of!

Capital One

• Qantas: 20% bonus through 11:59PM ET, May 31st, 2026 
• Don't want or need to fly Qantas? Maybe you've never even heart of them! (Australian Airline) Keep in mind Airline Alliances. With this transfer bonus, you may be able to book flights on other airlines in the same alliance, such as American Airlines or British Airways, even for domestic flights!

Chase

• Flying Blue (Air France and KLM): 20% bonus through 11:59PM ET, May 27th, 2026

• Japan Airlines (JAL): 30% bonus through 11:59PM ET, April 30th, 2026 (note: Capital One to JAL standard transfer ratio is 1 to 0.75; with this 30% bonus, the ratio becomes 1 Capital One mile to 0.975 JAL Miles

Chase

• Air Canada: 20% bonus through 11:59PM ET, April 30th, 2026

• Don't want or need to fly any of Air Canada? Keep in mind that Air Canada is part of an Airline Alliances. With this transfer bonus, you may be able to book flights on other airlines in the same StarAlliance. such as United or Lufthansa!

• IHG Hotels: 70% bonus through 11:59PM ET, April 30th, 2026

Number of Points Required: this is how many points you need to book your travel; the points price shown on the airline or hotel’s website where you will book

Transfer Ratio: most commonly this is 1:1. Meaning if you transfer 1,000 bank points to a travel partner, you'll get 1,000 points in the airline or hotel loyalty program.

However, some banks and travel partners don't have a 1:1 ratio. You can find the specific bank to transfer partner ratio when you are in the bank's Transfer to Partners/Transfer Rewards page. For example, for Capital One to Accor hotels, it shows 1,000 Capital One miles is equal to 500 Accor points. So for the Transfer Ration menu in the calculator you would select the "1:.5" option to align.
