Chase Transfer Partners

With all of the attention Hyatt got this week, announcing changes to their award pricing, a new transfer partner has been added to Chase somewhat under the radar.

While I don't think this is all that exciting, I wanted to be sure to update my list of Chase Transfer Partner Hotels and Airlines. Remember - airline and hotel partners vary across banks, with some overlap (Air Canada and Flying Blue), but often not (such as Hyatt, United, and Southwest). You can find American Express transfer partners here and Capital One's here

Chase Transfer Partner Hotels and Airlines

Why do you want to transfer your points verse book travel in the bank travel portal?
Typically, bank travel portals all you to book travel trading in 1 point for 1 cent. Granted, Chase does now offer Points Boost, where depending on the cards you hold and travel you want to book, you may get up to 1.65 cents per point of value.

However, generally speaking, when you transfer your points to partner hotels and airlines, you can book travel directly through those programs for LESS points. Using less points to book travel, means that you can travel more! Currently all of Chases transfer partners are a 1:1 ratio

This post walks you step by step how to transfer Chase points to a travel partner. Keep in mind, you need a "premium" (aka annual fee) Chase card to have the ability to transfer. My number one recommendation is the Sapphire Preferred, due to it's benefits and low annual fee; but these cards also provide the ability to transfer points to partners: Chase Sapphire ReserveInk Business Preferred, or Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business  If you don't have one of these cards, then your points are "stuck" in Chase and you only way to redeem is through the Travel Portal.

But, if you open one of these cards, you can then combine your points amongst accounts and transfer existing points out to partners too!

Hotels
Chase has four hotel partners that you can do direct points transfers to:
Chase Hotel Partners

Airlines
Chase has 10 airline partners that you can do direct points transfers to. (Emirates partnership ended in 2025)
Chase Airline Partners

Don't see your favorite airline above as a direct transfer partner? Keep in mind that airlines unite together and have formed alliances that allow you to cross book among alliance airlines. Therefore, if an airline you want to fly isn't listed above as a direct travel partner; through alliances, you may still be able to fly a specific airline, as long as you transfer to their alliance partner and see the flight in the alliance airline's search.

This post discusses airline alliances in more detail.
For example, you can't directly transfer points to Lufthansa, but Lufthansa is in Star Alliance, as is United. Therefore, you may be able to search United and come across a Lufthansa flight that you can book by transferring points to and booking with United.

Summary
Chase is my favorite bank and favorite flexible points because not only are their partners familiar domestic brand names you recognize, at the same time; they have other travel partners that you can use around the world!

Chase Ultimate Rewards are arguably the most valuable flexible points. You can earn them from a variety of Chase credit cards: Freedom Flex or UnlimitedChase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire ReserveInk Business Preferred, Ink Business Unlimited or Cash, or Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business

Each of the links above will lead you to specific details on each card. If you want to open one of these cards, I would SO appreciate if you utilized my referral links to open cards. This doesn't cost you anything, but provides me with some extra points and keeps all of my content free! Thank you in advance!

Reminder, if you're viewing this through a Meta app, please open an external browser to apply. This protects your data and gives me credit. If you're interested in business cards, but want more information, as well as directions how to apply for them; read here!

Capital One Travel Partners

Each bank has their own list of transfer partners; which is to say the bank pairs with various airlines and hotels that you can transfer your flexible bank points to, to book directly instead of booking through the bank's travel portal. This is often the best way to use fewer points/maximize your points value. Some travel partners overlap across banks and others, like Hyatt, specifically only partner with one bank (Chase).

Like Chase Transfer Partners and American Express Transfer Partners, Capital One has it's own unique travel partners, which you can learn about below.

Capital One Travel Partners

Similar to Chase and American Express, Capital One has it's own partners that you can transfer your points to, which typically helps you book travel for less points than the portal; thus making your points go farther!

To transfer points, log into your Capital One account and click on "View Records", then navigate to "Transfer rewards" (as shown in the photo above).

Capital One has 16 travel partners:

Plus, don't forget airline alliances! If you are not be able to transfer your C1 points directly to a specific airline you want because they're not a Capital One travel partner, if they're part of an airline alliance, you may be able to locate that flight you want on an airline partner and transfer/book with the partner.

For example, you cannot transfer points directly to Delta, but you can transfer points to Flying Blue (Air France/KLM) and you may be able to book the exact Delta flight you want through/on Flying Blue. Note: not all flights are available through partners, so first search the partner you can transfer to, to make sure the flight you want is bookable.

It's important to be familiar with travel partners and consider how you'd use points with a bank before you start collecting. As you can see above, Capital One doesn't have a lot of direct US airline partners - however it's possible to book US flights through airline alliances as mentioned above.

Another tip for lodging is that you can book short-term rental properties via Wyndham. Wyndham has a partnership with VaCasa. By transferring points to Wyndham you can then book VaCasa properties, if you prefer non-hotel lodging. (Dec 2025 update: in 2026, this is no longer an option. This partnership has ended)

Summary
Capital One has some great travel partners, especially for international flights. If you want to utilize Capital One points for domestic travel, my top three recommendations of how to use points are:
  1. Transfer to Airline Alliance Partners (for example, United isn't a Capital One transfer partner, but is in Star Alliance, as is Air Canada. If you find find a Saver Flight directly on United's website; you likely can find that same flight on Air Canada's website and book the United flight with Air Canada, after transferring Capital One points to Air Canada).
  2. Hotels: Wyndham, iPrefer and Choice all have hotels in the US
  3. Travel Costs: anything that is billed under the "travel category" on your credit card statement can be reimbursed with points, so that your net cost is $0. This is known as the Travel Eraser. Think airbnbs, rental cards, even some tickets and tours!

That's all on Capital One for now! If you're interested in earning Capital One points, I recommend starting with the Venture Card, followed by Venture X. Thank you as always for your support!

Introducing Bilt Rewards (and how to earn for free)

There's another points system that has been around a few years, that honestly until this week I haven't put much time or effort into: Bilt Rewards

Bilt originally allowed you earn points a few ways: paying your rent and by linking non-Bilt credit cards to your Bilt account and then earning Bilt rewards when using those credit cards at local restaurants, pharmacies, taking a Lyft etc. There are points you can earn ON TOP OF the points you earn with the bank who issued your credit card! Best of all - it's free to use!

Like the big banks, Bilt has several travel transfer partners (airlines and hotels); most notably, Hyatt (which the only other transfer partner is Chase; this is how I use the majority of my Chase points - transferring to Hyatt), but also Southwest and United (airlines many domestic travelers frequently use).

Bilt Airline Transfer Partners (1:1 ratio)

Bilt Hotel Transfer Partners (1:1 ratio)

Bilt has been in the news a lot this week for two changes, which is what I really want to cover in this post!

Earn Points for Paying Your Mortgage

You read that correctly! Coming in Feb 2026, you will be able to pay your mortgage through a Bilt credit card to earn Bilt rewards for paying your mortgage.

More details to come, but as of right now, Bilt has said there will be three different credit cards with annual fees of $0, $95, or $495 (with varying benefits)

Bilt's website has the current details listed here as well as an email signed up to stay informed here.

Earn Points for Shopping!

I've posted about online shopping portals before, and as of today (11/6/2025), you can now claim you Rakuten rewards in the form of Bilt Rewards.

I personally decided to make this switch (I previously was earning American Express Membership Rewards), because with Bilt, I can still transfer my points to airlines, but I also can transfer to Hyatt!

How to Earn Bilt Points with Rakuten

1. Create a free Rakuten account if you don't already have one. Using my referral will earn both you and I points! (note $50 is equivalant to 5,000 points!)

2. Create a free Bilt Rewards account using the same email address as Rakuten.

3. Sign into your Bilt account and follow the prompts (likely on your "For You" page) to link Bilt to Rakuten. Note: if your Bilt account is brand new, you'll need to likely wait 24 hours before you have the ability to link to Rakuten)

4. Just for linking your accounts, you'll get 2,500 points!

5. Shop through Rakuten and earn points! If you tend to forget to check shopping portals, Rakuten has both an app and a web browser extension that you can download, which takes the work of out remembering to use!

Keep in mind, Rakuten points are paid quarterly, so plan accordingly!

Summary

Although I'm new to Bilt (I made an account last year to try to figure out how to earn points on paying for our condo share, but honestly didn't go far when I realized I would probably need their credit card to make this work), I'm really excited to start using their points system and am saving a credit card spot in my 5/24 line up to be able to open the new Bilt 2.0 card once it comes out in Jan/Feb 2026, in order to earn points for paying our mortgage!
