Slater's been with us now five nights. Following protocol, the first couple days we kept the dogs separated with a baby gate and bar stools. The next phase is short interactions inside and outside. It seems like all Slater wants to do is lick things. He licks our legs when we're standing in the kitchen; he licks plants when we go for walks and he loves to lick Oscar. Unfortunately, Oscar does not love it and gets snarly with Slater.
Thus, the introduction is proving to take more time than it did with Knucklehead and I'm still giving out separate walks in the morning and after work. It's proving to be a challenge, but overall the fostering experience is still enjoyable.
