Night recap (+deals)

Good morning! Happy Thursday (and my Friday)!

Last night was really productive.  Although by the time I got walk and finished walking the dogs it was 5:50pm, which is an hour later than my usual routine, so I decided not to exercise and to make dinner instead.  I made creamy pesto stuffed shells, which we hadn’t had in a while and they were delicious! The weather was a comfortable 68 degrees so we ate outside.

After dinner, I did a quick errand to J Crew.  Several blogs had mentioned that J. Crew’s sale items were take an extra 30% off and although J. Crew’s chat customer service had said price adjustments wouldn’t be given for sale items reduced to farther sale, my local store had said they’d be willing to do it, just this once.  I posted that I was planning on  purchasing three of the No. 2 Pencil Double-Serge Cotton skirts over the weekend. In the end I decided to return the light coral because is really similar to a skirt color I already have.  After returning that and getting the price adjustment; I got a refund of $65 and I didn’t buy anything else.  It was a good trip! (The skirt I returned was $34.99 and then I got back ~$30 in price adjustments and taxes). Whoopee!

 When I got home I had a hankering for a chocolate dessert so I tried a new chocolate chip recipe.  They were really good, like really really good, eat 4 in a matter of minutes good..  My always supportive husband said that these are much better than my other go-to recipe and to book mark it. For once, I may actually agree.  I turned two into a mini ice cream sandwich.  While it was no Whitey's Ice Cream chipper (my home-town, best ice cream store ever shop's sandwich with homemade cookies and their chocolate chip icream), it was still fabulous:
